Day 1 Porto to Arco 11 miles (about 17.7 km)

Peace Lilies growing wild.
Beautiful colors in yards
Started getting religious as we walked on no-shoulder roads with cars flying by.
Interesting way of getting water. The object that looks like a wheel prevents animals or 2-legged "varmints" from getting in.
Growing along the side of the road
Near our stop for the evening in Arcos

Roadside alter to St. Fatima. The Pope is in Fatima today. As we are following the yellow arrows in one direction, we saw blue arrows directing pilgrimages to Fatima.

On the medieval bridge over which we will walk to Arcos and the Quinta de Sao Miguel de Arcos beside the church in the background. I'm holding the shells that symbolize the Camino.
The weather was a bit rainy but not bad.
