Day 2: Arcos to Barcelos: about 24 km (15 mi)
Lovely, lovely day. A little rain and mainly through beautiful countryside. The roads were cobblestone and dirt with only a little asphalt.

Lots of pilgrims are from Germany. We met up with Pietra, who lives in Zurich, but is from Munchen (Munich). She is German and Serbian. We first met her at Quinta de Sao Miguel de Arcos. As you can tell, Allen got quite friendly with her, but it was great-a new person for Allen's stories :) She was quite personable and fun to interact with. We walked slower than her so she soon left us behind.
We continue to meet up with some of the same people at different spots.
